The inspiration for my project was a color field design by the artist Rudy Bagozzi. In the piece, Rudy played with goemetric shapes of green, blue, red and yellow to make a very eye-catching color field design. I chose this piece because I loved Rudy's use of shadows and overlapping blocks to create a 3D look while also incorprating 2D shapes. I wanted to play with shadows in my design so I replicated Rudy's style and added my own colors and shapes.

I first created the background in the "Make Background" block. I chose a pinkish hue to fill the back drop and stamped a 2D blue rectangle similar to Rudy.

The rest of the blocks each stamp a different colored shape and it's shadow behind it. Each shadow is the same dimensions as the shape it is stamped behind but it is filled with solid black. To give the illusion of the shapes popping off the screen, I made sure to first stamp a shadow block and then stamp the corresponding shape with a slighly higher y-coordinate and slightly lower x-coordinate.

I wanted to add to the disparity between the 2D and 3D shapes so I added the "Stamp Black Lines" block to stamp more 2D lines into the design to finish the look.
